ITAR
Registration
Upon registering your company with the DDTC, you must have an
export compliance program in place that effectively controls the
defense articles and technology that your company deals with.
After registering with the DDTC, you must authorize and
Empowered Official (E.O.) to request and sign licenses on behalf
of your company. This authorization must be in writing. As an
exporter you are required to maintain knowledge of, and comply
with all ITAR and EAR regulations. A comprehensive set of export
compliance policies and ongoing training are recommended by DDTC
officials and will be reviewed, should you be audited by the
Government.
Although there is not an official
"certification" requirement spelled out in the regulations; as
an exporter you are expected to maintain knowledge of, and
compliance with, ITAR regulations. A comprehensive set of export
compliance policies and ongoing training are recommended by DDTC
officials and will be reviewed should you be audited for any
reason.
